Or it might just show that people don't trust random guys on the street with a plastic cup and a poster board as a "charity". There are way more con artists out there than there are people actually collecting money on the street to help others in need. You are more likely to help out the poor, homeless, etc. by giving to a well known charitable organization that to some dude on the street.

The sad part is that even known charitable organizations give only 10% of what they take after paying staff, location etc...
