funny skin reactions to stems????

I apologize in advance if this isnt an appropriate thread for this site, but I dont really post anywhere else and I felt the HUBGFE members would have a wide range of knowledge and experience...ass kisser arent I

OK so a young friend of mine (much younger actually lol) told me that they had an odd experience.

Someone gave them a little stem which they assumed was herb.
They ate it and said they said the only reaction they got was a flushed face and a sudden rash over much of their body and very itchy skin. Went away the next day.

They asked me what i thought might have happened? I have no idea other than to say bad idea trusting "friends" with gifts. But maybe it was something other than what they thought?

Allergic reaction? I have no idea.

any thoughts?

I'd do a search on WebMD for "side effects of Stems from my friends" They have all the answers.

It could have been anything really. Some herbs can be quite dangerous. I would take the stem to an expert in the field if there is any piece left over.
