Man I used to love to watch the ''kid'' play when I was younger.

This really saddens me.

Yes, very sad, he was only 57, he just loved playing the game.

He had a great life though. Would you rather live a boring life and work in a factory all day and die at 77, or play pro ball and only live till 57?? I know what I'd rather do.

I agree he was a baseball player with morals. Not many around these days. Well Bauttista got tested 17 times last year and came out clean.

I would place Carter in the same level as Bench. Both gave their hearts to baseball.

Mr. Expo, Gary Carter, 1981, I was in 7th grade and recall our principal declaring all afternoon games of the NLCS were to be watched by grades 6-8 as part of Canadian sports history.

Sadly, they lost to the LA Dodgers

11 All Star games (10 consecutive) 2 MVP-MLB All-Star games 1981 & 1984.
1986 World Series Champion.

The first from a Canadian team inducted into the HoF as an Expo, Andre Dawson (Expo), Roberto Alomar (Jays), Pat Gillick (Jays Exec). Fergie Jenkins is the only Canadian in the Hof.

I was pissed off at him when he left the Expos to join the Mets. All is forgiven now.

Baseball has lost all meaning to me, since the Expos left the country, I don't bother with it anymore. But back when baseball did have some meaning in my life, it was these guys, like Carter who I remember.
