Now as we know gas is a must. Many of us cannot do without gas. Why don't we hear the screaming at the gouging and collusion the oil companies are perpetrating on us.

TTC is contracting out because of expenses but WHY is it on the workers backs? Maybe it's because of the crazy fuel prices companies are faced with to run their fleets.

Price of food lately, HAVE any of you noticed how much more expensive it is compared to last year?? IS IT MAYBE because of fuel prices because I don't think its any union behind it, mmmmm I wonder.

All I hear is unions this unions that....the tax payers are being stolen from by the demands of the union. Hmmmm, are these same tax payers having their pockets PICKED by the oil companies and shhhhh not a word lately not even a peep. Anyone look at the profits of the oil companies over the last 5 years, hmmmmm I wonder??

SO why the hike now- hurricane, natural disaster or GREED of the private sector CEO's hmmmmm I wonder.

Where's the competition bureau, where's the politicians, where's the public's ANGER??

Exactly, it was the initial huge gas hikes that sent the US into a spiral which still to this day has not been able to escape.

As much as we don't like to hear it, WE CANNOT GET BY without affordable gas prices, WE NEED OUR CARS and COMPANIES NEED their fleets.

It's time to take the focus off the workers and start to assess everything equally and fairly.

payroll is not the largest part of most companies expense reports. A companies goal is to show losses. payroll is a small portion of it.

MM here's a great site to monitor gas prices

TGPT.CA Friends — As indicated yesterday by our exclusive 2 day “Future Forecast”, gas prices are set to rise sharply overnight for Saturday September 29 and again over the weekend. See your city here for details.
NOTE TO MONTREAL DRIVERS – we are aware that many stations have restored gas prices to an average of $ 147.4 as of midnight. However, with a five cent increase in wholesale prices, its unlikely the increase of that magnitude (14 cents) will remain for long at all of Montreal gas bars. Our advice is that you hold off purchasing fuel until Sunday.
Note – prices are falling in many smaller communities and are priced at a bargain for motorists. See your city and “” tab for more details. Our exclusive will give you better ways to budget your fuel expenses by letting you know, two days ahead of time, where gas prices are going.

It will be about $1.34 by this weekend. I agree with you Madman, we are being gouged and taken advantage of and I don't believe there is a thing we can do about it. Canadians have not seen any savings based on our strong Canadian dollar in comparison to the US.

31% is taxes so you know who REALLY rakes it in when prices are high.

That is my point. Us Canadians are to comfortable with our surroundings and do not complain or have rallies but credit goes to the Quebec students that stood their ground against the tuition fees and won.

Yup they sure won. Are you happy about the fact that your taxes are paying for their education?

Our taxes are paying for a lot of corruption. This is peanuts compared to what our Government does with our money

And one of them is transfering billions of dollars to a province that hasn't got the balls to stand up to students. Please note that from the reports I got from students in Quebec. the ones who were protesting will be the same ones who will be protesting that they can't get a job with their "Liberal Arts" degrees.
