Gen. Stanley McChrystal. Should Obama fire him or not?.

Heard on the radio he told one of Obama's higher ups to "BITE ME". Obama is in a tough situation now cause McChrystal was apointed by him and is one of the best.

Gen. Stanley McChrystal’s disparaging comments about President Obama and senior White House officials in a Rolling Stone magazine article elicited a range of reactions across the Web. Here’s a sampling of comments from observers, bloggers, pundits and columnists.

I have a lot of respect for warriors, but they need to be leashed. Forget the disrespect or chain of command issue (the Pres IS the CIC), how STUPID was it to blab to a reporter!::whip:

This general should know better than disrupting the chain of command in public. He digs his own grave, so to speak.

ABC news reported today that the general resigned, and Petreus is going in.

Thant means a delay of another month before the 30,000 extra troops go in.
Too bad Obama just lost big time.

Obama has completely fucked up virtually everything he's touched since taking office, and this is just another fuck up to add to his list. He steadfastly refuses to take advice from those more experienced, qualified and accomplished who surround him as advisors, is way more confrontational than the Democrat spin doctors would have the public believe, and is absolutely incapable of reaching any form of compromise with any of the world players who are really running things of consequence in finance, industry, politics and military affairs. I doubt Gen. McChrystal gives a fat rat's ass about Obama, only the troops overseas and citizens at home he continues to place at risk with his ego and incompetence. This dumbass move on his part will definitely come back to bite him in the ass within 6 months. Re-election? No frickin' chance...

..any public comments that Obama was advised NOT to go with McC? It would be rather unusual for a 4 Star to get such a visible posting AGAINST the JCS and/or the theatre commander?

Sadly McChrystal needs to be replaced. Any public comment against the C.in.C. has to be dealt with promptly.
Recall what was being said when Colin Powell spoke at the UN and people were saying that he should have refused and then was called an "uncle tom" for following his orders?
Chain of Command dictates that he followed orders.
Of course McChrystal's reply could have been to resign his commission BEFORE he made his comments - if he felt that strongly about it.
