Getting a lot of random calls on your phone?

Has anyone else been receiving a lot of random calls on your cellphone? The numbers aren't blocked, just regular numbers, but from several different area codes, not necessarily inside your city. As soon as you go to answer it, and say hello, you hear a click and it hangs up. Sometimes I've called them back, and I get a message saying "this number doesn't exist"! :no:

I'm thinking it's some sort of new robocall scam that are trying to find out if your number actually exists, but I could be wrong. What do you think? Hmmmmmm

Lol, now you have experienced a glimpse into the life of an escort.......daily, often hourly, we get those types of calls and hang ups, wrong numbers, inappropriate questions, etc, etc, etc, and yes we should expect some of this, especially those of us who openly advertise a phone number, but some days it does make me wonder, are there really that many people with nothing better to do and bots being beots, lol.

and I would just hang up but last time I told them to remove my name from their list and I am a bit surprised but it seems to work...

Out of curiosity I Google the number and it appeared on a site as a scam number for various schemes...

A lot of escorts these days seem to be using virtual text messaging services, and they often are given US phone numbers, even if they are local. However, I wouldn't expect clients would be using these sorts of services.

and I would just hang up but last time I told them to remove my name from their list and I am a bit surprised but it seems to work...

Those calls are on my real life phone...my Lilyphone is fine so far,the email is another thing,I am flooded with emails in chinese (!) and also from alleged escorts who said they want to rock my world...sigh

Al have that robo call system. You can not offed these idiots and you can not block the calls
I did hear that the one way to stop them was to waste their time on the phone
So sure enough I get a call and start playing along answering all the questions. Size of house, number of rooms ho long it takes, guarantee all that stuff.Now I get the price.
So now I ask the guys where do I find these ducts??? He says Ducts not Ducks. I say yes Ducts!!!!!
he says in the floor. Heat comes out of them. I say I got no Ducts!!!:LMAO:

I say YES!!

I also get calls saying that they detected a problem with my computer with the Windows whatever...
That have me laugh as I have only Mac's in the house,from the phone, to the tablet ,to the laptop to the big computer...

I read not to play with those as computers hackers could retaliate so I just hang up...
