Getting rid of stuff

When we moved back to Toronto, we moved into smaller quarters, and we have a lot of stuff, still packed in bins.

So, lately, I've been going though bins and sorting out the stuff I know I'll never use.

For example: I have an old USB hub. Its not USB 3.0, maybe not even 2.0, so I have no further use for it. My curent computer has plenty of USB ports on it.
I have a WIFI adapter that fits in a laptop's PCMCIA slot. Well those slots are outdated as well..

I have a couple of serial port cables, left over from FTA days.

These things are basically useless and have little or no value. So rather that dumping them, I am Freecycling them. If you check with freecycle.org you'll find a place where you can list items to give away and where you can post a request for items.

Check it out... its interesting what other people give away. If I had a garage and a truck, I could soon fill it with other people's junk. In fact, I bet there are some flea marketers that get stock from freecycle.

Anyhow, I'm glad to be getting rid of my junk to someone who will use it.

Do you think maybe anyone on freecycle would take a crate and all of its contents??

I'm a bit afraid to ask..... a crate of what?

If you are talking about the crate you live in, it would probably need to be fumigated first..\

If you are, by some rare chance being serious, I did post once there offering a mystery box of kitchen item. I had six people want it.

Great idea Danolo. I find I usually put items on the curb and 99% of the time they are picked up well before garbage day.

Works well if you're on a high traffic road.

Not so effective if you're one of five houses on a secluded court.

I used to live in a dead end street surrounded by 8 houses. Without missing a beat every Monday a junk truck would cruise it looking for good junk. If that is a good thing?.
