I give a gas card as a gift. Men love it. It is something they can use, then put money for "gas" into a fund for further hobbling ($50 are the cards I give) and they are discrete enough that the wife doesn't know.

I get them given because I drive a lot. Back and forth to my trailer a lot and for my mainstream business.

It is actually a very practical gift.
