Girl accused of blasphemy in Pakistan may have been framed by Muslim cleric

Wouldn't him defacing the Koran in of itself "To improve the case against her" be considered blasphemy and therefore will he be subjected to the same treatment and therefore punishment proposed for her?

The cleric has been arrested.

If convicted, he faces life in prison.

Today I was driving on Burnhamthorpe and beside me was a woman driving wearing a full Burka. Is it only me but should this be illegal here in Canada?

It would be easy since obviously this is legal here for a criminal to dawn a burka and a cop can pull up right beside them and they wouldn't know the difference. I think it should be made clear, you come to Canada burka's will not be allowed, call me a racist if you like but it's an issue of security.

...and what about your speedo?? Isn't it a security issue too? :biggrin2:

It's not a security risk because nobody here is going near him! However, it is grusome to say the least!:LMAO:
:LMAO::LMAO:

They're banned in France I think.

France's "muslim problem" is way more advanced than anywhere else. They banned the wearing of all religious paraphernalia in schools and in public but I am not too sure how successful it is yet.
Not long ago there was a muslim guy there who was suing the Government because they refused him some sort of payment for his second wife and their kids. He was promptly arrested for bigamy, and they packed the whole kit and kaboodle up and shipped them back to whatever mid-east country they came from.

She has been released from prison.

A Christian girl in Pakistan who was arrested on blasphemy charges has been released from prison in Rawalpindi, a minister has said.

On Friday a judge ordered her release and set bail at about $10,500 (£6,200).

The girl, thought to be 14 years old but with a younger mental age, was arrested last month after a mob accused her of burning pages of the Koran.

Last week an imam was remanded in custody, accused of planting burned pages of the Koran in the girl's bag.

The case against the girl, known as Rishma, has sparked international alarm and has been condemned by human rights groups.
