Gmail and Privacy Question...

Hello Ladies & Gents,

With the new Gmail privacy policy coming into play soon I've been curious if it is a concern for any of you? Approx. a year ago I transitioned from Yahoo to Gmail when I began travelling more, the system was just easier to integrate with my assistants current booking process and as such I am a bit hesitant to change my email again so soon. The issue of course is I've heard a lot of feedback that some people are concerned about the new gmail policies coming into play and if that is a concern for my current or potential dates then I need to consider it, I am curious as to what your thoughts are, is it a concern, will you take that into consideration when contacting a lady?
Also do you have a preference as to what service you like? I use gmx and yahoo, one for my 'anonymous' account for discreet verification and the other for an alternative address and have found both to be good providers. Any other suggestions or preferences? Any feedback would be helpful.

I was just googling my user name on twitter and most of my posts ended up on google

The privacy policy and setting that you have now will still be in effect. Google will still scan your emails for targeted ads and stuff.
You should make sure that your Google account is set to private, don't sign up for Google+, other than that will pretty much be the same as before.
If you have multiple accounts make sure you don't link them to each other. So don't setup Gmail to access multiple account.

If you are on Twitter and concerned about privacy you definitely want to set your profile to private, of course if privacy is a serious concern then social media isn't a good idea, even the most 'private' of settings on them tends to be fairly open to the public.

Thanks. It's not my own privacy I am concerned about though it's the perception of privacy, I am curious if the changes will affect how anyone else will use their accounts. I am happy with my gmail access but unlike in other businesses it's not like I can do a lot of quality assurance testing in regards to how communications are being handled, the general consensus is that you don't reach out to everyone unless you are contacted. Still I have read several posts on a number of boards where people have requested the ladies switch from gmail and I am curious if it's just a small number of clients that are worried or if there are more than a vocal minority and if so then it's an easy request to accommodate but one I would want to do as soon as possible as it would still require redoing the site graphics, text, etc. (on second thought not as easy as I would want LOL).

If no one really has any objection I'm more than happy to see the thread die off, less work for me. I just figured if I didn't ask and there were a number of people that raised a concern then perhaps I should look at the site.

Does it really matter?. They will find one way or another to market their brand.
