Hell yeah!!!

Since I have not done this in ages, can someone(s) please recommend a few places where a group of 40 somethings will not feel out of place. I am putting full faith in my wingchick tonight, she tells me she has the magic. Who am I to doubt her?

Thanks.

Take them to get some Muse mixers :na:

you can go to chick'n deli.....30- 40 and up. They have a live band but this bar/restaurant is in uptown. Mount pleasant (Yonge) and Eglinton. If you go there, enjoy!
pS They have great chicken wings.

Are they now closed?.

Really? Man I have been out of the loop on this one. I used to live near this place and its sort of a meat market for older crowds. Last time I went there, it was about 6 years ago. Perhaps a 1 player can give the place a call. Its usually busy there.

Nope, looks like they're still alive and kicking...

that place has been rocking for years....I can't believe they're still around. I used to work on Yonge and Eglinton and lived not far, used to go there all the time.

If any of you remember my story about my GF dancing with me on the dance floor then "enticing" another guy nearby to dance with her, this was where she did it (and couldn't understand why I got pissed off that she did this...)

...well I can definitely picture the room where everyone is dancing.

Did you try their chicken wings? I still think they are one of the best on Toronto. I believe they are half price on Mondays.

SO A1, did you go there or at least have an enjoyable evening?

Fuck me I'm hung over!

Ended up going to Crocodile Rock. Not really my type of place, but had a good time. It is a total meet market, with a crowd typically younger than I, but I did not feel out of place. No I did not get laid, but the wing chick did come through. Made out with, and got the phone number of a very attractive Welsh lass, new to Canada. I was laughing my ass off because she was convinced I was a Hell's Angel, though I told her several times I was not.

All in all a fun night.

awww I remember Crocodile Rock....and it s definitely for a younger crowd. Glad you had fun.
PS Will you try Chick'N Deli?

Yeah, I was at CR once.....way too young a crowd for me.....I'm surprised it's still around too. Clubs like that normally don't last.

Next time you go down that way, if Easy in the Fifth is still around they get an older crowd.......

never heard of it before..is it laid back? pretentious? "meat market"?

actually, it is called Easy & the fifth...I think it used to be called The Big Easy but don't quote me on it.

It has been about 8 yrs since I went and their website looks like they've changed format.

It was really cool. They had a dance club area, a pool/smoking lounge area (and they even provided cigs!!!!), and a roof top bar. I found it a little annoying to be kept waiting outside but if you go early enough there's no waiting.

The crowd (at the time) was great. No pretentions, no uppity up, waitresses were friendly.

(story time lol).

Last time I was there a buddy and I were hanging out by the dance floor next to these two hotties. He wanted to try for one of them so I asked the other to dance, (for a change) she said yes....

So we're dancing away to a couple of songs and I notice my buddy waving me over like a nut. I ignored him for a bit then he got really ...agitated trying to flag me down....so I "danced" over (we weren't that far away) and he says to me "don't even bother, let's go, she's a lesbian".....I went right on dancing lol....after a couple more songs the girl nods to where my buddy and her friend were standing to say "ok, let's go"...

So I get off the dance floor and my buddy says "wtf dude, you're not going to get anywhere, she's a lesbian". I said "how do you know"? He said "I was hitting on her friend and I asked her what she was up to tonight, she said "I'm here with my lover"...I said "who"? she said "the girl dancing with your friend".......why did you keep on dancing with her"?

I said "fuck me, I haven't had a woman accept my invite to dance in 3 yrs, I don't give a rat's ass if she's a lesbo or a dike, or a tranny for that matter, I was having a good time....." but you're not going to get anywhere!!! Who cares? To get shot down by a woman because she's a lesbian is probably THE best reason to get shot down...better than her being a snot lol.....so I went over, asked them if they wanted a drink, bought em one and my buddy was all "what the hell are you doing, let's go..."

Outside I said "wtf is your problem, who cares if they're lesbians, we could have had fun with them tonight......jesus...."

But you're not going to get anything!!!

WHO the FUCK cares.....to hang out with a couple of cute lesbians is a hell of a lot better than just hanging out with nothing......

I shoulda known that night he was a goof...took me a few more years but I finally learned.....

I mean really, at the very least I had a girl that liked to dance with me and at the most we coulda got em drunk and maybe watched a lesbo show lol.....

oops forgot to post the link:

Been to Chicken Deli a few times but it has been quite some time now. I will certainly go again, but the 'group' decided on this place, so it was a majority rules.

I can vouch for the Fifth (last time I was there was around Nov. last year), it's a nice place and crowd was not pretentious. Now that the weather's nicer, you can have a decent meal on the patio first before heading up to get your party on. The main dance floor is like a loft-style area, and there are several couches and lounge-like spots to chill and actually talk to someone instead of yelling over music.

yeah, I checked out the pics and the couches are still there (and still covered in the same material I seem to remember).

I saw on their site they advertise that they're like a cool loft home that you've been invited to...and that's a good analogy because that was what it was like......
