Disturbing video shows baseball player beating girlfriendBy Hannah Withiam March 14, 2018 | 3:26pm0:03/0:15 A professional baseball player has been released from his Pennsylvania team after video of him beating his then-girlfriend in a stadium stairwell emerged Wednesday. The Venezuelan outfielder, Danry Vasquez, was arrested in 2016 on domestic violence charges after hitting the woman and dragging her down the stairs by her hair, according to a TMZ report. At the time, Vasquez was playing for the Corpus Christi Hooks, the Double-A minor league affiliate of the Astros, who cut him days after the incident. The video, which officials had at the time of the arrest, shows Vasquez lashing out at the woman by smacking her with the back of his right hand, pulling her down the stairs and hitting her again multiple times while she puts up her arms in self-defense.Vasquez’s case reportedly was dismissed earlier this month after he completed the ordered anger management courses. The Lancaster Barnstormers, a professional team in the Atlantic League that had signed the 24-year-old following the incident, have now cut ties.“There is no choice but to sever the relationship,” said the team’s manager, Ross Peeples. “Neither I, nor the Barnstormers’ organization as a whole, can condone or associate with that behavior.”

what is even more twisted, he tried to be a "gentleman" by picking up her glasses and purse. Then he hit her again and again. Oh gosh. :don'twantto-see:/

The minor league baseball player caught on video beating his then-girlfriend in a stairwell is asking for forgiveness, saying he’s “truly changed” since the disturbing attack — and is now married to another woman.
In an interview with El Emergente, Danry Vasquez, a 24-year-old Venezuela native who was released by the Atlantic League’s Lancaster Barnstormers after footage of the 2016 incident surfaced late Tuesday, said a lot has happened since he assaulted Fabiana Perez at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi, Texas.
“This incident happened almost two years ago,” Vasquez said. “I’ve truly changed. I’m engaging in activities that have helped me change. I’ve matured as a person and I know what I did, or at least what was seen, which shouldn’t be seen as an example or anything that can be amended.”
Vasquez — who completed requirements of his probationary sentence in connection with the attack, including a 52-session batters intervention course — is now married to another woman, he said, and no longer with Perez, as had been wrongfully reported following the video’s release.
“I’m actually married, and not with the woman with whom the incident occurred,” Vasquez said. “I respect, value and love my wife. She has supported me throughout all of this and has been there for me unconditionally the whole way.”
Vasquez also acknowledged that the footage is hard to watch.

“I also realize that scenes from this incident were powerful,” Vasquez told the outlet. “As a public figure, I should be setting a better example. Today, I ask for forgiveness and want to show that this will not happen again. I understand there will be more backlash and I’m leaving everything in God’s hands.”
Perez, meanwhile, spoke to Univision about her relationship with Vasquez, a six-year romance and eventual engagement that ended months after the attack. Nueces County District Attorney Mark Gonzalez told KRIS-TV that Perez didn’t want to press charges at the time, which she said she now regrets.
“Now, when I watch the video, I remember things and I say: ‘How could this have happened, why did I not do anything, why did I not react?’” Perez said, according to a translation of the interview.
Perez, now 21, was just 19 during the attack and said she was fearful of the potential ramifications had she cooperated with investigators.

“May God forgive him, only he knows what he did,” Perez said. “If I had the conscience I have now, I would have made another decision.”
As part of his pretrial diversion program, Vasquez also had to complete a 16-hour anger management course and meet with a psychologist. He also was banned from using drugs or drinking alcohol for the duration of the one-year program, Gonzalez said.
The Lancaster Barnstormers said they released Vasquez after being made aware of the video, according to a statement released on Facebook late Tuesday.
“There is no choice but to sever the relationship,” manager Ross Peeples said. “Neither I, nor the Barnstormers’ organization as a whole, can condone or associate with that behavior.”
As for Perez, she looked back on the footage and drew a lesson from it.
“When there is a lack of mutual respect, things change, things get out of control,” she told Univision. “That’s why you always have to maintain respect, values [and] communication in a relationship.”

I would never give him a free pass. You can't change a person, no matter how much they lie.

Why women don't report domestic violence?. Because when the judge sees the video of your boyfriend beating the shit out of you, he dismiss him with a fine.

Each time he smacked her, he made sure he fixed her glasses, her hair and made sure the contents in her purse weren't spread all over the floor...making sure she kept up (normal) appearances...preparing to prop her up back in public lightabuse in its finest form

I'm not a fan of deportation, but I'd gladly make an exception for #danryvasquez. His actions we despicable! Such a punk!!

THIS IS FUCKING DISGUSTING. #DanryVasquez I swear if I recognize your irrelevant ass down in South FL, I’m gonna smash a brick on your fucking face.

Hey #danryvasquez why don't you be a real man, hit me up in my DM and come around here so you can get the fair fight you were looking for you puny coward. How dare you treat a woman like this? Your mother should be ashamed of you.

The worse part about watching this is that this girl didn’t even flinch. Just the usual beating I guess. She just tolerates it. I hope she gets help. I am in no way victim blaming , just shocked at how normal this is. This POS bastard!

Just saw the video of baseball player Danry Vasquez hitting his girlfriend, that dude is a BITCH!! Not only for hitting a woman, but waited till no one was around and he blindsided her and hit her when she wasn't even looking!!

When I was in Costa Rica 3 Feb's ago, staying with some people I met in Brasilito, their Nicaraguan neighbour went on a suspected drug induced rampage, chasing his common law and step daughter around in the middle of the night wielding a machete. The policia were involved and the next day when I was leaving he was back and everything appeared normal. I guess for some people or cultures this is par for the course.
