Another terrorist attack?.
Police in Halifax are searching for a man with a rifle in the downtown core after receiving a call from a witness Thursday morning."This is a single report of a man believed to be carrying a gun," police said on Twitter. "At this point we are trying to confirm the sighting and locate the man. There has been no threats or reports of shots fired."
"He was reported to be wearing black cargo pants and an ear piece and was concealing what is reported to be a rifle wrapped in black cloth," police said in a press release.
The witness said the man with the gun was spotted near the Halifax Citadel, a national historic site.Halifax City Hall and the courthouse are locked down as police scour the area.
On Twitter, people speculated about the possibility of a shooter in the city a day after a soldier was shot and killed at the National War Memorial in Ottawa
"Heavy police presence in Halifax this morning. Not often does the Halifax RCMP take out their assault rifles," Alexander Barnes wrote.
Local schools are on lockdown as well, be safe everybody.
