Ok, here are some of the reasons I have turned down sex.

She might have been underage
It would ruin a friendship

It would have been awkward in the morning

It was too cold

Do you really think it is odd for a man to turn down sex? Sex is not a big deal, god knows it is easy enough to get. The bigger question here is why would a man NOT turn down sex if it was not right?

I agree with you about it being easy to turn down sex. I have had numerous opportunities to have affairs with colleagues and business associates and have always walked away. I have never wanted the strings that come along with sex with civilians.

That is sooo true!! I have also been almost surprised how many offers I get from civilians, but as I have gotten older I have also gotten wiser. I usually turn these offers down since I know the motives and consequences are unwanted and not worth it.

When I was young, I was just happy to get sex. Now, I am far more picky and discerning.

I would say that the question is directed specifically at men because I would be surprised to hear of any women in North America, with a regular pulse , that hasn't had some guy offer to do her . These guys that hit on every woman they meet give the impression that all men are sex crazed . I will say I am often surprised at their success rate but it really is the law of averages . Hit on 100 and you may get a couple of takers .

I think the question is interesting in dispelling the myth that all men will fuck anything . No doubt some guys will but I think most average to attractive men have walked away from the offer of sex . There are a multitude of reasons for it but I've experienced it and seen it many times .

Back in university and grad school we used to get hammered at clubs and pick up some random larger girl. By the time we leave the club and take the cab home some of my buzz would be wearing down. I am just very particular with the girls I find attractive when I am sober so when I get drunk my barometer is really off.

I have dumped the girl at the lobby of my condo and have also dumped a few girls at their residence. It is a major asshole move but it is better than rejection in bed.
