I personally don't give a rat's behind how other people want to live. Not how I'd choose to live, but they do make some valid points about how we're being subjugated by the state.

I was thinking the same thing. In many ways the government has free reign (or it is rain?) over us and they use it under the guise of "doing what needs to be done" for "the good of the country". Unfortunately we know that the number one priority of any government is to stay in power. Everything else is secondary.

Now there have been examples of good public elected officials turning down increases, turning down increases in expense budgets etc but they are few and far between.

I also agree that if they don't believe in being governed or recognize those in the government as having any authority over them, then they shouldn't be using roads or other services provided by the government.

But electricity is not a good example. It has been privatized and has been for a few years now.....but they DO have to pay for it.

Not sure if you mean "nothing we can do about the group" or "nothing we can do about being governed".

That's not exactly true. There are what, 25M canadians and how many police and military? We could seize control if we really wanted to.......(this is the reason the gun lobby has so much power in the US: in reality with a little organization the citizens could overthrow the government quite quickly).

Everyone always asks or questions why the police get away with so much and why I question why so many disrespect the police. The reason being is that citizens outnumber them by 1000 to 1 and they are the ONLY thing standing between total chaos and the current status quo.

Just look at what a relatively small number of insurgents did to the US military might? They still can't get Bin Laden and look what they bring to the table.....
