Vape for lyfe :good:
But seriously, it has helped me to quit a long time habit. I highly recommend for smokers who want a way out and will happily give pointers on how to make it work to anyone who is ready to give it a shot.
I was lucky when I quit.
1. The wife had also just quit so I didn't have a temptation at home.
2. I injured myself and had to be on painkillers for a short while during those first few days of quitting.
3. My employer had a smoking cessation program that give you nicotine patches and counseling as needed.
4. My son was a major motivation as he was coming of age to be aware of what I was doing.
The big thing was the painkillers though. I think they distracted me from those really strong urges the first few days. The habit of the activity of smoking is tough too. I don't know how often I began the routine of reaching into my pocket for my pack of cigarettes without even thinking of it. That takes time to go away.
Lastly....don't think that the addiction ever goes away. To this day I still get the thought to have a cigarette creep into my mind. I also still love the smell when I walk near someone who is smoking.
It's tough and you just have to be tougher than the addiction.
