How is the pup doing?

I have ragdoll cats, they think they are dogs.

But I would love a dog, a guard dog, so I have chosen the Chow, I would like a white one, and I am naming her Molly.
I have never had a dog, only cats, so I looked for a breed they considered good as a guard dog, but still pretty.

Has anyone had experience with a Chow?

What kind of dogs, cats, bunnies or horses do you own? ,.a111.jpg

Males can get very big.

My dog will eat yours for breakfast :biggrin2:

Really, my Cat might have your dog as an appetizer!
She is a princess, she likes to be carried around.

I don't have a dog yet, I want to know does anyone have any experience with Chows?
I want a guard dog, but I want a Pretty Dog.

My Aunt had a Rhodesian Ridge back, now that was a powerful dog.

He's doing much better, solid number 2's.

Glad to hear that, there is nothing worse than a sick animal, at least a child can tell you what is wrong. :BigHug:

It's not the type of dog that you will or want to get.

It's the most vulnerable.

I hope this makes sense.

I looked up Guard Dogs and they included Chows.
They said they were Fighting Dogs?

I take it they are not as good as I read?

Well I just learned a little more.
Training a dog to be a pet and a guard dog can cost up to 10,000.00

We have a man in the area that has a Wolf Dog, although they sound very "romantic" not a good combination
especially if the 2yr old neighbours kid just happened to fall in your yard, Little Becky would get ate!

But love the American sites, they suggest "get a glock", now I would love a gun, but I am afraid I would shoot anything
that moved!

But sites still list Chows as a good guard dog.

Some sites even suggest a Heinz 57 from the pound, but trained as a pup.

I know when I was living in TO, neighbours 2 floors down had two chow puppies. I could hear their booming barks as clearly as if they were in my condo. They looked like bears but were very timid, especially around our cocker spaniel.

Thanks Amy, if they were afraid of your dog, well not for me, I wanted a beauty and a trained dog.

Transient that dog is beautiful.

I have never owned a dog just cats, but if I had my way I would get a Greyhound, a rescued dog, their eyes are amazing.

Thank you everyone!

I have some of each in the freezer :LMAO:

I had a dead cat in the freezer, she died in December, my kid didn't want her cremated
So I put her in the garage, well we had a warm spell

So I wrapped her in pink towels, put a toy mouse in with her, and wrapped her in green garbage bags

Two months later the kid comes storming into the computer room saying "What is in the freezer"?
Some pop tarts, a few frozen dinners, stra...........You have my CAT in your freezer!!!!

Well sweetie if Mommy left in in the garage it would be covered in maggots, would you like to see what a maggot looks like?

"Your Sick"........and off she marched!

When it got warm out again and we could dig the ground, I took her out to bury, I also found a dead mouse in the garden and
buried them together!

So........who wants to come over for some Pop Tarts!:Dancing::angel:
