Today I learned that an old friend to many on this board has been fighting for her life. Greek monique posted a goodbye thread on the other board late last summer. I don't think it was mentioned on HUBGFE. When I relayed the info to a few close friends of Monique’s they were equally shocked and uninformed. I have copied the text here. I felt that all of HUBGFE should be aware of this story in case you knew this beautiful and brave girl and had not heard of her battle for life. .

"A devastating update and a sad farewell of sorts

I know several of you have sent me messages and emails and I am sure text messages as well. I had hoped that I would be able to win my fight to stay alive. I'm sitting here in bed a broken woman. My once beautiful hair has vanished, my curves having been eroded to the point where I now weigh less than 100lbs, and every day being worse than the last. I am told I have weeks to live and my heart is broken as an angry past client revealed my past work to my family. On the bright side, I can pass away in peace, I can hold my head high that I fought as hard as I could.

love you all... Monique"

Monique posted her last thread in August 2014. I have no idea how she made out in the ensuing weeks/months but I fear the worse. I wish I could have seen her one last time. If anyone has any info I would appreciate knowing.

I don’t know what to say about this except that I’m broken hearted. I have lost track of Monique who I had some wonderful times. I had no idea that she had become sick and was fighting for her life. I can only hope that she received loving care from other friends and her family and I pray that she was of the mind that she had lived a happy life. She certainly enriched the lives of others and had friends that truly cared for her. I know she will always have a place in my heart. I can still remember her passionate kissing and the intimacy that I was so fortunate to receive from her. She was a special girl with a beautiful heart. I'll miss hanging out with Monique in restaurants and downtown patios girlwatching with me, her laugh, her sense of humour, her friendship. I saw her living and laughing and loving and that’s how I will remember her. This hurts.

I remember visiting her as a client a couple of years ago, and finding her both an interesting person to talk to and a kind heart.

Her mention of hair loss most likely means chemo. Not a good way to spend your days, as I know only too well from personal experience.

Someone "outing" her to her family is the lowest blow: that person is a scumbag and asshole. But, as she said, it cleared her heart a little bit. Too bad it was forced, though.

I worthy thread to post for a worthy individual. Well done Swede.

Monique was the first escort I used when I returned from a very long hiatus.

I found her to be as engaging as she was beautiful and that's how I will always remember her in my mind.

A very touching post. I didn't know this young lady but she obviously has in very positive way touched many of you and Swede, you're a good man!
