How do you take care of your hands?.

I lost my job that I was working the last 17 years. Few choices out there, took the first offer as need to feed and pay bills. Yes, manual labor and now my hands feel rough and cracked. What's the best remedy for this?.

This stuff works for me, but my hands are pretty soft to begin with.

Shoppers sells these gel-lined gloves that are awesome.

They’re soft and you can slather on lotion before you put them on and go to bed. Don’t confuse these gloves with the rough scrubby ones most drugstores sell for a loofah replacement. My favourite lotion is Aveeno but St Ives makes a decent lotion as well and is a lot more affordable.

If this is too expensive an option, nothing beats covering your hands with Vaseline while you watch tv in the evenings or put it on and wrap them up with plastic wrap when you go to bed. It will be a sweaty night but your hands will thank you in the morning.

Thanks Amy! I suffer from eczema on my hands. They've gotten better over the last couple of years thanks to some diet change but I still have some stubborn patches. I used to use cotton gloves with Vaseline overnight. Those gel gloves, do they sell them online only or in store too? I don't think I've ever seen them in the store.
@Wassherz, try some omegea 3 fish oil supplements. That's what I did to help my eczema.

i've seen them in downtown stores too actually or sally's beauty but idk how many guys wanna go in that place :biggrin2:

glysomed is the magical cure for all mechanic, engineer, contractor guys i know lol its a thicker cream that you don't need to keep reapplying. best eczema cure too without being too heavy or cetaphil which is lighter and recommended for acne or dermatitis, both at shoppers, rexall or even loblaws

I've got an order of cetroben emollient coming in from Amazon. I've tried glysomed. It works well except I'm in a scent free office environment so I can only use it at home. As for the gloves, I have no problem going into Sally's! The sales women are usually pretty hot! :biggrin2:

Answer was going to be same thing I do to entertain my pecker, hands deep in pockets!

For rough hands try different moisturizer until you find one that works for you.

Worked in a foundry for 10 years and this stuff works on hands.
I am serious about it.
