Everyone advocates for a "certain look" , why is it so wrong if clothing designers, modeling agencies do it. It seems to be okay for men and women to push the big butt look, yet and again, someone pushing the ultra thin look is punished? Seems hypocritical to me.

I went to a new nail salon last week and halfway through my polish the woman stopped, looked at me and out of nowhere said, "you're too skinny." Then the girl who did the nail art did the exact same thing. and I thought, wtf? Would you say to an obese woman, You're too fat?? I don't think so. So why is it ok for total strangers to comment negatively on my weight when they wouldn't say it to a fat woman?

I was polite, as I almost always am, but I won't go back there again.

I can only suggest that the ultra-thin look is picked on because of the health concerns related to people being being that far under "normal" weight. There are all of the eating disorders related to the thin women as well.

Not that building up a big butt is always healthy either. I think the main issue people have is not with choosing models of a certain body type but of causing an environment where women will harm their bodies to fit that body type.

But what is normal? Why do we always think of those who look different, either smaller, or larger than the majority, as being "unhealthy". There are many people who are large sized who are healthy and likewise for some who are thin. I think this big butt trend is unhealthy since it causes many women to surgically alter their behinds to fit the trend........Perhaps we should all just realize that people come in all shapes and sizes and push the message that what is important is self acceptance and being healthy
