It said in the comments on Youtube that the horse was tranquilized before the removal. So it was a happy ending after all.

Why is it that some people freak at the idea of eating horse meat when they'd gladly eat cow or pig? They're not all that different.

I often wonder about that too. I think North Americans figured out that horses were more valuable for riding and performing work tasks (pulling a plow or a wagon), so they didn't eat them. When they realized how much money they could make by betting on horses that can run fast, they knew for sure they weren't a food item.

The starving people in India would still rather worship cows than eat them.
