I believe I heard on a newscast that this video appears to originate in Croatia. If that is the case, I very much doubt the authorities have the mandate to do anything and probably care even less. Within that girl's liftime, people were slaughtered like animals during the ethinc cleansings that were carried out by all sides during the breakup of former Yugoslavia. Next to those atrocities, the drowning of a few puppies is pretty insignificant. Even in my lifetime, growing up on a farm, unwanted puppies and kittens were routinely drowned, normally in a weighted gunny sack. You only called a vet if you figured that the cost would be less than the animal would eventually be worth, if not, you put a bullet in its brain. Granted the young lady is taking some delight in the unecessary cruelty of a necessary task, probably assigned to her by her parents. I myself have had the unpleasant task of disposing of unwanted litters as a teenager growing up on a farm.
Perhaps, instead of launching a vendetta against a nameless person who probably has no idea, how repugnant her actions are to the denizens of the "First world", you should reflect on how fortunate you are to live in a world where you have been insulated from some of the less pleasant realities faced by the majority of the people in this world. There are more indignation and calls to action in this thread for the sake of a few puppies on the other side of the planet than there probably has been on this entire board for thousands of children drowning and dying in Pakistan or starving oin other parts of the world. If you really want to make a difference, there are plenty of opportunities much closer to home.
Ok, I'll put my soapbox away now.
