I have seen them here TINY and I am farther south than you. I think light pollution is probably the reason you haven't been able to get a glimpse at them.
They are eerie to see when you aren't expecting them. When I saw them they were ribbons of deep glowing green undulating in the sky, similar to the first video. But they were in a small section of the sky.

Have seen them in that state in Norway, N.W.T. and Alberta. So awesome to just lay on the hood of a truck with your arm around the current GF while sharing a spliff and watching nature put on a show that would beat any IMAX production.
