I've only ventured into the hobby so far as getting lap dances at strip clubs (if that even counts) and reading boards like this one. I used to be able to go out and pick up a woman whenever the need occurred....or I was in a satisfying relationship. It's only been in marriage where I feel stuck. I don't want to just break it off like I would have done with dating a woman back in my younger years, but staying means having to put up with a nearly sexless marriage. It would seem that the hobby would be a good solution since the physical need can be taken care of while not involving any kind of emotion (like cheating would have at some level). It would just be like going to have a restaurant meal when the wife doesn't feel like cooking. But my wife would never see it that way, so every day I have to think about the repercussions of any action I take regarding sex while she seems to get off scott free on the issue siting women's hormonal issues and aging and blah blah blah.
It also makes a difference that I don't make a ton of money and would notice a few hundred dropped every month or so.
I can't remember who it was on
the Red Board who said it, but one guy referred to strip clubs as
the gateway hobby. I haven't been in one in years, but I dropped a lot of money in those establishments, beginning in 1979, until late 1990's, and maybe a half dozen times since.
Until about 1985, Ontario strip clubs were
tits 'n' ass only, all of the dancers wore G Strings or panties on stage and on boxes. If was
FFN in Quebec, and long before '79, I'm sure.
My first strip club visit, went with a guy from work. He was sort of a
nebbish, a Jewish guy, early 30's, bald, living with his parents still. He suggested we have a couple of
pops at the
Super Sexe club on St. Catherine Street. It was roughly equivalent to
The Brass Rail at its peak, for talent, but with one point on the 1-10 scale added to the rating of 90% of the
Super Sexe dancers.
The other guy was too shy to ask a dancer to the table, so I did it for him, and got half the dances, and he paid for them. The hottest women were in the central downtown clubs. The women in clubs east of St. Laurent Blvd. got more and more rough looking, the further east you went.
Back then, no self respecting dancer would approach a patron to ask if they wanted to have a dance. If they were 'temporarily unemployed', the girls would sit together in the 'ladies only' area, and it was up to the guys to approach them. Otherwise, they would just walk quickly around the club, and look for returned eye contact. For some of the hottest women, you'd have to wait, and approach some other guy's table when his wallet came out, or she started to get dressed, otherwise some other guy would beat you to her. Dances were five bucks/ 'air only' back then, and they used much longer songs.
Back in the day, there was one club on St. Catherine Street, near Crescent St, beside a pinball arcade, called
Les Filles d'Eve, ("the daughters of Eve"), that was kind of unique. All of the dancers were also waitresses, and none of them had their own 'turf'. They all served everywhere. If you liked one of the waitresses, but didn't have too much money for dances, you could just buy your drinks from her, and give her a generous tip. If you liked your waitress a lot, you could have her dance for you. The waitresses who were dancing a lot didn't have much time to serve drinks, so the less popular dancers got most of the drink tip money.
The owner was some old gay guy that was, by
all accounts, the world's greatest boss. I was working in a magazine store, and the owner of the club often let me have rolls of quarters for paper money on days when the bank was closed. I could have had all the rolls I wanted next door at the arcade, but then I would have been gone and back in ten minutes, instead of 45, and that would have fucked up the 'silver run' for the other guys assigned that task on days we were overstaffed.
Just before Christmas, 1988, I met a dancer at the
Super Sexe club, (I was living in Toronto, by then, and on a stop over for Christmas travel), named
Emmanuelle, (both her real name, and her stage name). On the 1-10 scale, she was about a million, and only 18 years old then, (she had been dancing since age 16). I actually made three other trips to Montreal between 1990-91,
just to see her dance, and these were in the days when you'd be tossed down the stairs, if you touched the girls with any intent.
October, 1990, I won over $2,000 clear of expenses in two
Rotisserie Baseball pools, (similar to a 'Fantasy Draft', except you buy your team by auction, with a fixed salary cap with which to purchase 23 players, and you pay extra for player movement transactions). She ended up getting more than half of that. She recognized me from almost two years previous, when I'd met her that first time, and she was at my table from about 8 PM until the place shut down, just before 3 AM, except for her stage shows.
She did this bit with melting ice cubes on her breasts that trickled down her body. I can still get half hard, just thinking about that. I went back the next night, too, expecting to stay for only a couple of hours, but she convinced me to go to the bank machine because, as she put it "I don't want to dance for anyone else tonight.". We've all heard that, but she meant it. When I left around 1:00 AM, two different guys who may have been waiting two nights to get a dance approached as she was dressing, and she turned them down, saying that she was done for the night.
I have never seen any woman, anywhere, (life, photo, film, etc.), that was even anywhere near close to this woman in appearance, and she was incredibly nice, too. She had a very large ass, but it was all muscle, like a race horse, as if you cut an apple in half, and put the two sides next to each other. She had big round natural D cup breasts, sized and shaped like cantaloupes, and a gorgeous face, with eye colour somewhere between hazel and gold, I can't describe that differently, I've never seen anyone else with eyes that colour, and it wasn't the lighting in the club, I saw them up close, for long periods of time, so the colour is etched in my memory.
The first night, we drank five large bottles of
Black Tower white wine between us, with the bottle in a raised ice bucket beside the table. The dancers were not allowed to drink with the patrons, so they would stand up, and walk two feet from the table, have a sip, and return.
We won a bottle the next night. They used to have a game there a couple of times a night. For a specific song, any guy who had a dancer at his table was handed a huge playing card, and the emcee would open another deck of huge cards, and call off the suit and pip until it matched a card one of the guys was holding, and that guy won a free bottle of champagne, or equivalent.
Five minutes or so after I got back to my cheap hotel on the second night, I felt a minor earthquake shake the building.
This dancer had one embarrassing moment. There was a small stage near the back of the club, with a pole, where the dancers could give private 'stage shows' for a small extra fee, say $7 a song, instead of $5. Her English was good, but not fluent. After about the first half hour, she whispered to me "Eh, you never had me on the little bed in the back? It costs a bit more, but it's worth it.".
I didn't know what she meant, but any red-blooded man never turns down an offer like that from a goddess. So I said sure, and she brought me over to the small stage for a few songs. I explained to her what she had said to me in English, by saying it in French: "Eh, tu ne me deja eu au petite lit en arriere? Ça coûte plus cher, mais ça vaut le peine!", and she looked horrified for a second, and then laughed.
She gave me a very good deal, buying her whole shift at $60 an hour. She had plans to become an interior decorator, and I'm hopeful that she succeeded. I last saw her in December, 1991, and the next time I was in Montreal, the door man said she didn't work there anymore, but I was in town on other business, so I didn't make the trip for nothing.
