YOU'VE probably seen the "boyfriend chair" in clothing stores for bored shopping companions.
Now IKEA has taken the concept one step further by creating a "crèche" for retail-weary men, complete with Xbox consoles, pinball machines, continuous televised sport and free hot dogs.

MÄNLAND is being trialled for four days this Father's Day weekend as a male-only play space to hang out in while wives and girlfriends peruse the aisles.

Publicity manager Jude Leon said the idea was modelled on the Swedish furniture giant’s existing child play area, SMALAND.

Ms Leon said women were given a buzzer to remind them to collect their other half after 30 minutes of shopping.

lol freaking awesome idea....it's about time!

Now if we could only get purses and panties outta Marks Work Wearhouse I'd be even happier!

Farking genius! It is a win/win/win situation for everyone involved. Men get to play, women get to shop, store gets increased revenue. The employee who came up with that idea should get employee of the year. I might just send her a trophy myself.

I say her because a man could probably never sell that idea to a board of directors.

You're right playa, musta been. I just remembered all those hours sitting outside the change room with all the other guys while the GF tried shit on. I remember one time I was sitting there and this girl came out to show her BF what she was thinking of buying....he looked at her and rolled his eyes....she says "how do I look"...he says "hey, that looks great"...she goes back in her change room and looks over at me and shrugs and we both laughed....Just then my gf comes out and hands everything she tried on to the girl (she didn't buy anything of course) says to me: what were you two laughing at? I said "that dude's gf came out wearing this gawdawful outfit and he said she looked great even though he thought it looked bad"...she says "you never do that with me do you"? "NO of course not honey".......then she eyed me suspiciously......lol....

The thing that bugged me the most about going shopping with women is the fact that, they couldn't just find what they wanted, and buy it. For eg: My gf needed a plain white T shirt. We go to the mall, go into a store (sears I think it was), she sees one for $12.00. Tried it on. Didn't buy it. Then we proceded to go into 20 stores looking for THE white t shirt.....after about 2 - 3 hrs of this, we go back to Sears and get the first goddamn one....

Unlike me, if I need a white T shirt? I go to the nearest store, find them on the hanger, pick it up, take it to the cash, get on with my life.....

I found the secret though: If she tried something on and it looked good on her? I just bought the damn thing and saved us hours wandering through a mall.....eventually she just stopped taking me shopping....YAY for ME lol.....

I remember one, oh man we had a blow out. One Christmas she needed to get her Brother in law a work shirt. She asked me where we should go. I knew a mall that had a Marks and a couple other stores that sold them. We went to Marks, saw a nice one, on sale, his size, I'd worked with him and saw what he wore so I knew that was it. Did she buy it? NoooOOooooo we had to go to all the other stores. So the mall was closing and she was in a tizzy because she hadn't gotten it. I said (big mistake) "why didn't you just buy the FIRST one dammit"? "oh I didn't think it was perfect" I said "perfect schmerfict, do you think we care that much about the fricken shirts we wear to work"? (he was a window installer so he pretty much always had a sweatshirt on over the shirts anyways). All we care about really is "it isn't pink, and (in this case) it was warm".....

This is one of the reasons why I say women are mostly insane and their own worst enemies......

I was just thinking, do they make the wives take an id card so when they come back, they must pick up the same one they came with? I know a few who might be tempted to trade in for a new model!!!!

I also think something like this might put a whole new spin on the "ball" room hehehehehe
