Well, yeah, he was a great songwriter but he could have turned out like Paul, while he does have some "good" songs doing his own thing he sure hasn't written anything as good as he was when he was in the beatles. Same as George, he had some good songs, but nothing like when he was with the group. I think that was a case of the sum of the parts is greater than those individual parts....
