Tragedy happened.

HIGH RIVER, Alta. -- Devastating flooding in southern Alberta turned deadly with the discovery of two bodies pulled from the Highwood River.RCMP said the bodies were recovered near the town of High River Friday but the identities of the deceased were not yet known.

A woman reported missing after she was swept away with her camper into the Highwood River in the Longview area was still unaccounted for Friday night.
Officials urged anyone displaced from the town about 40 km south of Calgary to registered at evacuation shelters in nearby communities of Blackie or Nanton.

As of Friday about 500 evacuees were registered.
Police and emergency crews along with some 1,200 soldiers were going door-to-door in the town under mandatory evacuation while many were rescued from rooftops.
The situation continued to worsen in Canmore on the second day of flooding, and a state of emergency will likely continue through the weekend as flood waters from Cougar Creek continue to wreak havoc along its banks. A boil-water advisory was sent out Friday morning to residents east of Cougar Creek, Elk Row Industrial Area and Harvie Heights.

West towards Banff, Carrot Creek -- located just inside the Banff National Park gates -- spilled its banks destroying the major highway.
While electricity has been restored to most of Canmore, a major gas line break means it may take weeks before residents in the Cougar Creek area will have the ability heat their homes or have hot water.

Residents in Crowsnest Pass, Cochrane and other communities in southern Alberta also continued to deal with the fallout of the flooding and the continuing rain.
