Got my flu shot Thursday, a bit late this year. I've never gotten sick after getting it, like I hear some people claim. I really find it helps, especially given the intimate nature of my work. I implore everyone to get it. Here's to giving each other pleasure, not sickness.

Sophia, you are 100% correct about flu shot. It is a myth that people think they get sick after the shot. While it is not 100% effective, it does increase your immunity. I got mine.

definitely get the flu vaccine. won't get sick with cold or flu but some might have redness at injection site or low grade fever, benefits still outweigh it. since the predominant strain is H3N2 flu season will suck this year :don'twantto-see:/

but the attenuated live strain in FluMist (nasal spray) isn't recommended. last year had 3% effectiveness rate vs 63% for vaccine

peaks at dec and late jan, vaccine works best 2wks after getting it so get it now if you can!

rmb this doesn't protect over little colds and sniffles with fevers, the effectiveness rates only show people who have been hospitalized for Influenza A or B, not C. "sick" does not count if you go to the clinic just to come out with an OTC directive :biggrin2:

I have never had a flu shot as well.

I'm just a little on the leary side and have little trust in big pharma or government for that matter.

I do hear this years version is especially bad though but then again they have been saying the same thing every year now for as long as I can remember.

Ill cross my fingers I suppose.

I usually get a shot every year but I missed the last two years.
When I had the shot I never got the Flu but last year I got that Flu bug!!!!
Never again will I miss the Flu shot!
I meet a lot of people in my work and I just can't run the risk of being knocked out for 2 weeks.
This Flu last year put me flat for 2 weeks and took at least another month to be able to breath right.
I just love the ass-wipes that say "Oh they will not get the Flu shot" and then come into the office hacking and spewing and don't even bother to put their hand over their mouth.
