Chicago faces an epidemic of gun violence. This year alone, more than 2,100 people have been shot, and more than 400 have been killed. The Fourth of July weekend was especially violent.

Adriana Diaz gained unique access in some of Chicago's toughest neighborhoods that weekend for "CBSN: On Assignment," which airs on Monday, Aug. 7, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

Gangs with guns......CBS portrays them as victims.
Forced to arm themselves for protection.
Well to protect themselves from other criminals.

Never mind that they have killed, raped, robbed, crippled others.
Forget the fact they used grade schoolers to move drugs.
Ignore the fact that they are terrorist to their own neighbors.

View them as victims and praise the good elected officials of Chicago for making it illegal to have a gun.
You can see the results of the law. Criminals are tossing away their guns...
It is next to impossible to obtain a gun in Chicago.

Thank you Mister Mayor for a job well done and we will welcome all your littler killers with open arms into society.

Have to admit that if I lived in the USA right now I would apply for a concealed carry permit.

Things have just escalated too far to hope for a solution to the violence that happening on a daily basis.

Best to ensure that you and your family is at least protected.

I have been saying for quite while that we e going to let this escalate until Vigilante Justice becomes the norm!

I believe he answer to this gang/thug problem is to just simply hunt them down!!!
History has proven this point over and over!!!

Countries need to empower a special law enforcement/hunting party to hunt these criminals down and prosecute them.
The current law enforcement agencies have proven ineffective in this matter as well as the prosecution and judges have failed.
A lot of other less violent crimes will diminish when people see that perpetrating it has consequence's.
Just look at the two idiots that were caught in Toronto for the crimes and posting it on youtube.
These two really don't see anything wrong with what they did. They openly admit that they are gong to continue to make these videos and post them.
Only one thing is going to make them stop. It is called repercussion's!!!!

You are partially correct....However a shoot on sight order is what works.

Once it is clearly understood that as a gang member you can be shot on sight by LE the numbers decline.

Gangs rely on fear to keep the locals in line....
You issue a quit or kill order and it works.

I agree with your shoot on site order for the selected ones. And as you say the others will step into line very quickly.
The part that I am also trying to get across is that when the fringe element see's what the repercussions are the will certainly think twice about committing their crime.
