It is the world's most remote group of islands, 6,173 miles from Britain, and has more birds and penguins than human residents.

But there is one thing missing from the lives of the Tristan da Cunha islanders - it cannot find a vicar to give them spiritual guidance.

The volcanic British territory in the South Atlantic has been without a parish priest since Father Chris Brown left in 2010.

Applicants should be active and energetic, duties include religious instruction, ministry to young people ...

Probably a very pure community of devout souls, with good old fashioned family values.

Gotta have internet. It's 2013 already. So nobody has to go, Blissful. But somebody needs to come.

To Tristan da Cunha, that is.

There are 262 real people on that island seeking religious guidance in their lives. Bound to be a spiritual leader somewhere ready for the welcome embrace of those needy souls.
 
WOuld be a great posting for a while! Think of all the books I could read! And music I could listen to!
 
But it's like the Garden of Eden, Fang. Lots of opportunity for long walks in a bog, typing with an ironic accent and violent folk dancing.
