Is Global warming a man made Phenomenon?

Another good example of this is public transit. Everyone thinks it's so green right? Wrong. It is only green when it is used at capacity and that happens only a few times a day. A bus driving down the road empty or with 1 person on board is 10x more inefficient than a compact car with 1 person. Just think of the energy a subway train consumes and a lot of the time, it will only have 10 or 20 people on board.

Funny how no one ever brings this point up when discussing the benefits of public transit... I love getting into discussion for this reason alone! :) I ALWAYS use that analogy when refuting public transit and it usually shuts people right up.

I put out 1 shopping bag of garbage every 2 weeks.
Same here, but we have a family of 5, so it is a garbage bag instead of a shopping bag. LOL

I recycle 99% of all paper products and all cans tins and plastic containers.
In addition to the 1 garbage bag, I put out a green box, and 2 blue boxes- 1 for bottles cans etc, and another for paper/ cardboard and flyers.

Now that I have a wood burning furnace, I even recycle my offcuts of my wood.
Wait a minute? You BURN WOOD!? Al Gore will be knocking on your door soon to collect his carbon credits! That is a huge no, no!!!! :gasp:

yeah, actually it is very energy efficient. The furnace controls the temperature so 3 stove lengths heat the house for about 10 hrs.

I hate it though, I found a length of perfect straight grained maple (put it aside for cabinet work) and another when I split had bird's eye in it, that went into the planer.....since bird's eye maple is about $20.00 a board foot, that stove length was worth about $30.00. Now, what to do with it?

make 600 wooden nickles

That is about 30 bucks worth

naw, I'm thinking I could use it as an insert into a jewelry box lid or something. Now if I could find some tiger maple.......

I think everybody should take some Prozac and settled down. Everything comes to an end, so why not humans. The earth will always be here, other than it falling into a larger planet, black hole or the sun.

I don't think the dinosaurs had any say in living. As for human we are just small germs who think they rule the universe, that life goes on for ever and think we are destroying the planet. I really think the planet will destroy us before we destroy it. One large eruption or release of gas even a major major earthquake.:bad:

Now look at what has happen, now I need my Happy Pills.:lol:

Stop being so depressing.

Our day will come, but I'm not done yet. 150,000 years just isn't long enough considering how long others lived here. The dumb dinosaurs were here for over 165 million years. You're such a quitter. I hope you don't open the wrong bottle. We don't need another Debbie Downer on this BB.

why oh why did I take her off ignore? doh!

Bliss:

Once again, you post something totally unrelated to the topic being discussed.

In case you missed it, the question was:

Not whether anyone is happy about it, sad about it, think we're masters of any universe....

Please, stick to the topic at hand for ONCE?

BTW: we've had major gas leaks, and we're still here. We've had nuclear accidents, we're still here. We've had major volcanic eruptions, and we're still here. I think you should watch a little more discovery channel instead of Crack TV.......

Ignore me. Not a gas leak but Hydrogen Sulfide it happen before. Also scientist have found an enormous amount of Methane on the Arctic Shelve if release it can kill 90% of the world population. So what does all this have to do with the topic well why worry about man destroying the environment and causing Global Warming when the earth will destroy us first.

Even if you stop polluting the Earth, itself has its own coarse and man can not change that.

ahhh once again you miss the point entirely....

So, according to you, we should all drive hummers, burn fossil fuels at will, dump toxic waste into our oceans, rivers, streams, deplete our water supply, burn forests just because we want to?

Get a grip...really.

As for methane in the arctic, if they know it's there, don't you realize they can tap into it and ahem USE it?

Just like they find oil, and pump it out and use it?

Jesus, you really are out there aren't you?

BTW:
it's course, NOT coarse....coarse is a grade of sandpaper....
it is arctic SHELF not shelve, shelve is a verb
it's scientistS found, not singular
it is "if releaseD" not if release......

Thank GOD you're not in any position of power, by your logic we shouldn't do anything to conserve, save or prolong.

I certainly hope you don't treat people with that logic. By BlissLogic if someone gets cancer you should overdose them with heroin....I mean, hey, they're dying anyways right?

*shakes his head* Seriously, do you play the fool on purpose or is this really how you are?

Back on ignore, and hey bliss? Sooner or later EVERYONE will put you on ignore.....
