I don't know.....eye for an eye? In anger most of us will want those who do harm to the innocent harmed or killed the same as was done to them, but is that right? I find humans funny and fickle when it comes to death/killing/executions. Some who want abortion abolished, accept this type of barbarity, those who are against the death penalty, too will accept this as alright....perhaps we're all overly emotional at times, but killing is killing, isn't it. If you accept it in one instance shouldn't all be acceptable.

The individuals executed were ISIS jihadists.

They have shown absolutely no mercy or respect for their sworn enemies.

And as such should be dealt with accordingly.

I think, as I try to do with most situations, that you MUST look at each individual and judge his/her behavior. To generalize from a few to the group usually leads to injustice. If those 13 ISIS members had indeed committed atrocities....had it proven....and then had their heads blown off....then so be it. But if even one of them was just some kid who got caught up in the ISIS movement and didn't actually hurt anyone or didn't break any of the accepted laws of war, then you have an injustice.

It's more work.....but anyone who wants to come across as "holier than thou" and a champion of justice has to be willing to do the work.

The mandate of ISIS is crystal clear.

With the advent of social media there is no way anybody is innocent of being duped into joining their cause.

They know exactly what they are signing up for.

They wouldn't twice about taking you and your family out in the most painful and horrific way possible. As taught to them in their interpretation of the Qur'an

There is no such thing as a civilized war. We pride our selves on being a civilized society but we cant be that way when we're fighting a faction who uses fear, death, and terror. We have to deal with them on their level. The problem is, those animals are willing to die for their cause and become marters and examples to others.

It would be really interesting too see the results of a national referendum on capital punishment.

I'm not so sure that as many Canadians are against it as is thought.

Nobody could possibly be there for any other reason? Not one single member could possibly be there because they fear for their own life....or the lives of their loved ones and are just playing along, doing no harm to anyone but too afraid to speak out?

It Doesn't matter why you are embracing the ideology of ISIS or radical Islam.

What matters is if you do then you are part of the problem.

And that problem needs to be eliminated.

But what about those that aren't embracing the ideology? Those that are there out of fear....who don't really participate? Like in every other group, some members could be innocent. Should they be killed?

It's one thing to stand back and say....well I would fight them because I know it's wrong. It's another thing when they have a gun to your mother, father, wife, kids, etc. I can imagine that there are several "ISIS members" in that situation.

Until the day they can invent smart weapons that will only kill the guilty, war will remain a brutal and savage and sometimes necessary evil.
