Many Muslim nations are very backwards as we do refer to them as "third world countries". I feel that many third world nations where Islam thrives are going through the same things as Catholic's did during the time of the Inquisition.

What I do find ridiculous are the generalized sweeping attacks upon Christians and any religion. I would say that there are some real loonies that are the vocal minority that people key on and use them as a basis to condemn the whole. Most Christians are not like this and look askance at these loonies.

The same goes with the Islamic world. Most Muslim's seek the same things as we do. They just want to raise their children in peace and prosperity and care little about the outside world. Most pay lip service to the radicals out of fear. Unfortunately we only hear about the radicals and we let our fear play on us. Unfortunately what most of the Muslim world knows about North America is what the propaganda tells them. The same for the us regarding most of the known world. Some North Americans are just as ignorant and ill informed about the world at large just as most don't even know what is going on in their own country.

Religion is not the real issue. It is what the crazies do with it. If it was not religion crazy people would just find another vehicle to use to further their lunacy.

Poverty and lack of education is the main issue. Religious radicals tend to prey on the uneducated.

Just curious where and how the Srebrenica massacre fits into your analysis - 8,000 Bosnian Muslims, including boys as young as 14, murdered by Bosnian Serb units comprised primarily of Bosnian Orthodox (i.e., Christian) officers.

I am no fan of the Taliban, Sharia law or any of the other atrocities committed by muslims but to suggest that one particular religious group has a monopoly on repugnant behaviour just makes you sound stupid.

You may also want to explain the Catholic priest and nuns that participated in the genocide in Rwanda.​

I actually don't think he's too far off there bosco. You cannot be a part of a group, and support that group, without bearing some responsibilities for the actions of part of that group.

One thing that people have to realize: that the muslim or islam isn't an "over there" problem, muslims and islam is alive and well and living in North America. In recent months leaders in N/A are calling on muslims in N/A to take a stand against those that abuse their religion.

As stated, and I agree wholeheartedly with, the comments about islam being at the stage catholiscism was in its history. Anyone who belongs to any organized religion who kills or harms someone in the name of that religion bears some responsibility for those actions.

Back to the nazis for example. They did actually keep what they were doing a secret from many of the population but there were thousands if not millions who knew what was going on and did nothing about it for fear of what reprisals would be taken against them. Not like they are in the same league, but many Canadians are the same way. We continually bend over the desk and let big business and our own government fuck us up the ass and do nothing about it........
