Monday’s temperature soared to 6.9C and so did the temptation to put away the winter boots.

Resist it. The sad truth is snow will likely come again and again and then some more.

Between 2008 and 2014, there were 30 days in March when it snowed, according to Environment Canada. A reason for optimism: 19 of those snow days happened between March 1 and 15, and only five in April.


But winter can overstay its welcome: According to Environment Canada, 7.9 cm of snow fell at Pearson airport on April 20, 1976.

As for when we might expect the next bout of snow, Environment Canada is forecasting a chance of flurries on Saturday.

A note about our sources. The data from 2008 to 2014 is taken from an Environment Canada weather station in East York. This was the only station with snow records online going back a few years. Toronto is a big city so it’s worth noting that snow falls unevenly across it.
