Rob and Doug Ford slam Kevin Spacey

Doug Ford, the brother of embattled Toronto mayor Rob Ford, is not a big fan of Kevin Spacey's, it seems.

Following the Oscars on March 2, Rob Ford briefly appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and was mocked by guest Kevin Spacey, who plays the 46th president of the United States on Netflix's "House of Cards."

“I just have to say: That’s the first time I’ve had to follow a Ford — and one that was so banged up,” Spacey said.

When Kimmel thanked Spacey for sharing his dressing room with the Toronto mayor, the 54-year-old actor quipped, “He threw up all over it."

On the latest episode of "Ford Nation," the Fords' Web series, Doug Ford accused the Oscar-winning star of being disingenuous.

"In my opinion, he's an arrogant SOB, and I'll tell you the reason why," Doug said on Friday morning. The city councillor went on to explain that when he was backstage at Kimmel's show, he was told he couldn't take photos with Spacey or talk to him.

"Who does this character think he is?" Doug asked.

He also accused Spacey of changing "on a dime" when the actor took to the stage. "It's unbelievable," Doug said. "So, you know, Kevin, why don't you get off your high horse and be real and take pictures with people?"

Meanwhile, Rob, who claimed of Spacey, "I wouldn't know him if I ran him over," said he didn't actually see the actor at the show.

"You gotta be careful because, you know what? Maybe he does take pictures and we're not aware of it," the mayor said.

In the same episode, the brothers denied reports they had bought a cabana at a W Hotel Oscar party, claiming Rob just sat down in one before taking photos with various guests. "You were a rock star," Doug said.

The brothers also confirmed Kimmel would be coming on "Ford Nation" as a guest. Something tells us Spacey won't be following him anytime soon.

Two white fools embarrassing themselves again.

LMFAO! They've got a lot of nerve! What a couple of assclowns!

Olivia Chow smoked pot 'a little bit' as school-board trustee

Olivia Chow says she smoked pot "a little bit" when she was younger, including in her early days as a Toronto school-board trustee in the mid to late 1980s.

The Toronto mayoral candidate and former New Democrat MP told Evan Solomon, host of CBC Radio's The House, that she smoked marijuana when she was a student.

"Well, when I was in arts school, yes, I've smoked marijuana a little bit," Chow told Solomon. "That's never been my thing. Other than the antihistamine that I occasionally need to take because of hay fever … other than that, no [drugs]."

Asked whether she ever inhaled when she was a New Democrat MP, Chow said no. "Not as a member of Parliament. I think in my early days when I was a school trustee. I think that's a long, long time ago," she said. "It's really not my thing. And you know, back in the old days when I was in arts school in university, yeah a little bit, but I'd rather work out. I'd rather go swimming and hiking and cycling, and I find that I need to be in very good shape, so that's why drugs is never really my thing."

Chow, 56, grew up in Toronto and studied philosophy and art, according to her biography. She was elected to the Toronto Board of Education in 1985 and served for six years before being elected as a Metro Toronto councillor. She was a city councillor until she was elected as the MP for Toronto's Trinity-Spadina in 2006.

The NDP are in favour of decriminalizing pot possession.

One of the candidates Chow faces in the mayoral race is Rob Ford, the incumbent who became infamous around the world after he admitted to smoking crack cocaine.

Chow says she doesn't want to talk about Ford's drug use. "I'd much rather look at his failed policies. For example, that we now in Toronto, one out of 10 of my neighbours are not working and they're desperately looking for a job," she said.

The Toronto municipal election is Oct. 27. There's no byelection yet called to replace Chow in the House of Commons.

Bill Clinton assures Jimmy Kimmel he checked Area 51 for aliens when he became president

Sure sure Billy.

On Wednesday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, former President Bill Clinton shared what he believes is the only sure-fire way to achieve world peace — facilitate an alien invasion.

The former president said that, shortly after taking office in 1992, he had his aides research a whole list of places featured on the then-popular television show The X-Files, including Area 51 — the infamous Nevada military base — just “to make sure there was no alien down there.”

He also “had all the Roswell papers reviewed,” he said, referring to material about what UFO conspiracy theorists believe was an alien crash site in the New Mexico desert.

“If you saw that there were aliens there, would you tell us?” Kimmel then asked.
“Sure,” Clinton said, vigorously nodding.

“If we were visited someday I wouldn’t be surprised,” Clinton told Kimmel. “I just hope it’s not like Independence Day.”

“It may be the only way to unite this increasingly divided world of ours … think about all the differences among people of Earth would seem small if we feel threatened by a space invader,” Clinton said.

“That’s the whole theory of Independence Day. Everybody gets together and makes nice.”

That is not, in fact, the “theory” of Independence Day, merely an element of its narrative. It is, however, the plan espoused by super-villain Adrian Veidt in the hit 2009 film

Watchmen
, based on the award-winning Alan Moore graphic novel of the same name.
