Joke: what its like to own an Apple iphone lol...

Yup, Toshiba LED 42" was on at ...Visions (?) for $999.99 a week ago. And I believe it was LED backlit NOT sidelit like LG.....

I was quite shocked as I didn't expect to see any type of LED for under a grand for at least another year or so. Heck, even the bigger ones (50" and up) are all around the mid $1,000.00s now. I guess the advent of 3D has dropped the price.

I mean heck, you can get a 42" 1080p LCD or Plasma for around $500.00 now.....

Fair enough, just asking because some make that mistake. My computer's main monitor is also 42'' for show and tell, but it's a bitch to pack and take to the country bunker.

well you know the answer don't you? buy another one hehehe....

No problem with asking, one thing to watch for is whether they are back lit or side lit. Makes a difference.

I remember getting into it with someone over 720 and 1080 (me saying I could see the pixel separation points at 720 and not at 1080) and he saying there is no way I could see them. Plus he was on about the Pioneer Kiro at the time too...

Speaking of monitors, has anyone taken a look at the 3D ones? Are they really that much better than the 3D movies we'd see in the 60's and 70's? (or now for that matter)......
