I knew of a guy who had a bizarre disease, every 8 to 10 months it seemed since puberty he'd get an aneurysm. He was constantly checked in and out of the hospital - they would patch him up, he'd be in the hospital for 6 months then boom. Again. After 6 or 7 years of that he just begged to die. They however could have kept patching him up for another 20 years but what kind of life is that?

Funny, there are stories of people defending the rights of some religions to avoid medical attention for their children and here we have someone persecuted for avoiding medical attention for their child.

I know you were being sarcastic but in reality, the planet is becoming over burdened as it is now. In addtion, the weakening of the species by eliminating darwinism isn't helping either.

For eg: (I've given this before) there was some disease 100x worse than encephilities. A man and a woman were tested when they were young, and found each had the gene that could produce this disease. (if they mated with a non-carrier). They married. The doctors warned them that their child would 100% be guaranteed to get this disease, be a vegetable it's entire life, and be in constant pain. Of course, they went out and got pregnant, on purpose I might add, and sure enough, they had a malformed, chicken brained sized lump of goo. (harsh, but that's the best way to describe it).

The doctors said they should just let it expire on it's own. It would have no conscience, no awareness, be in constant agonizing pain, and that's all it would ever know.

Nope, they wanted to expend every effort known to medical science to keep it alive.....
