A sex tech company has teamed up with a virtual reality porn company to ensure that the action on screen is synchronised to the movements of male and female erotic toys.
The toys and porn combo can be used by couples to live out fantasies without cheating on their partner, say the creators.
Lovense has developed two sex toys – one for men and one for women – that connect to your computer or phone over Bluetooth.
You can then watch virtual reality pornography made by a company called Virtual Real Porn, and the toys will automatically match their vibrations and pulsations to the movements of the performers.
The idea is that you view the adult action through an Oculus Rift virtual reality headset while using one of Lovense’s toys.
The male toy contracts (using air pumps) based on the speed of the female performer and will also collide each time the performers’ bodies collider. Meanwhile the head of the female toy rotates depending on the speed of the male performer and a secondary arm will also vibrate.
“Virtual reality porn is much more immersive than viewing a 3D movie (as you can see in the video in this post). As you move your head, you can see around the virtual room.
The depth perception is pretty realistic and when the actress or actor comes really close to you, it almost tricks your brain into thinking you’re there,” says Lovense’s Eddy Olivares.
Olivares says people shouldn’t worry about VR porn being so realistic that it will impact physical human contact between people, but it can be used to allow individuals to live out fantasies.
