I think what needs to be remembered is that the tone of the boards has changed dramatically over the period of time that I had you have been on here. And by here I mean discussion boards in general and not just this one.

Another thing that needs to be said as well is that all the boards have seen an increase in hostility and aggressive tone. I could be wrong but I'm inclined to think that since the closing of one particular board that many assholes used to attack and slander women from they have decided to use the remaining boards to take refuge and subtly continue their behaviour.

This has been a refuge from that but there seem to be some that just don't realize we can agree to disagree.
Just because we agree to that does not mean we need to silence our opinion. We just need to not make them attacks.

I can tell you I think you are wrong but respect your right to your opinion.

People need to see this not as a personal blog but rather a community.

Maybe I'm just the eternal optimist (or plain crazy) but I don't think most people are out to hurt or ridicule. Sure, there's a minority who do and will at every chance, but there's some thoughful and fun people here (and even on other boards) that are here for the same reason I am: enjoy myself. If we ignore the assholes, eventually they pack up and leave because no one will listen to them.
