I took a day off yesterday, and decided to go recharge myself with Malena. Got there soon after lunch, at around 12:30. When I got there, she gave me some tea, and I was showing her some stuff on Facebook on my phone. It was a great old time, as usual. It lasted longer than the 1 hour, but she doesn't charge any more than the 1 hour. After we were done, I left naturally empty headed. So I forgot to put my phone back in my coat pocket. I was already 99% home when I remembered it. Malena had to go pick her kids up in Orleans, so she was not going to be home.
One of the disadvantages of living a modern lifestyle is that you now only carry around cellphones, and no longer bother with landlines anymore. It's a disadvantage because once you lose your cellphone, you're almost totally cut off from the rest of the world. I tried to use my laptop to contact her, but nothing was working properly on it. I spent a nerve-racking 3 hours trying to find out how to contact her to arrange another meetup to pickup my phone. The other nerve-racking part of it was figuring out how I'm gonna explain how and where I lost my phone to my wife! The wife usually contacts me just before she leaves work, to see if I can pick her up. In the meantime, I was able to track my phone through a website, using a tracking feature on it. A bit to my surprise, I tracked it to Orleans! Then I remembered that she had to pick her kids up, and so she must've brought the phone with her, just in case I tried to contact her. It was an interesting virtual ride, as I saw her riding around Orleans from place to place. When I saw it was in Gatineau, I went to my mother's house to use her phone, used it to contact Malena. I told my mother that I had lost my phone, and that I was contacting a locator service.
Anyhow, I got back to her around 5pm, and picked up my phone, we had a laugh about it. I told her about all of the places I could see her going with my phone, it was like my phone was on a trip without me. Fortunately I got my phone back with about a half-hour to spare before my wife called. Oh yes, and she didn't steal my phone or anything like that, as some were thinking she might do a few weeks ago.
