WINNIPEG -- A man who said he visited a Winnipeg massage parlour on business claims he was offered a free massage while he waited. Instead, police say, he was sexually assaulted and a video of the attack was used to blackmail him.
Two people face a slew of charges after the bizarre crime, and police believe there may be more victims.
The 29-year-old man went to Simi Magic Spa last Monday to speak with the owner about a "separate business matter."
That's when, according to police, he was offered a massage while he waited.
Instead, he was sexually assaulted. The details of the attack were not released by police.
The attackers told him they'd release a video of the sex assault if the man didn't pay up -- reportedly asking for thousands of dollars.
Simple Mehta, 39, is charged with extortion, procuring and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. Pam Sandu, 22, is charged with extortion, voyeurism, sexual assault and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
Both remain in custody.
