Every new bit of data of course is questionable, because it;s new.... but I do believe in my lifetime we'll see a pill or something that can be given to reverse the aging process. It's inevitable, since that is the goal of many humans, to live forever.........

Why?

Do you just ban having children to offset the need for an increased food supply?

Would you want to work into your 15th or 16th decade of life?

Well I guess I am a human, lol, but I didn't say I wanted to reverse the signs, or that I wanted this.......:)You are aware that I can't control scientific advancement, or can I Hmmmmmm ,lol. People aren't curing disease, to get rid of the disease, they're curing it to live longer, healthier, so ask them, the scientists..... why.

Our lifespans are finite and this is not a bad thing.
The journey to cure disease is not about extending life, rather it is about relieving suffering.

Like I said we all die but if you can live life up to that day then we have accomplished something good

With all honesty, I would not want to have to be alive, fifty years from now. I would however, very much have enjoyed living throughout other 106 consecutive year periods of history. Unfortunately, because of diets and medicines, a 106 year life span in the past would have meant being old-aged for more than half of that time.

I very much enjoyed being a child in the 1960`s, a teenager in the 1970`s, and a young adult in the 1980`s and early 1990`s. With hindsight, I would not want to have been born twenty years later, and currently be twenty years younger than I am now. Age 56 today is very different from age 56, 56 years ago, ie: someone born in 1905, being 56 years old in 1961.

I'm not sure that I would want to live forever, but I surely don't want to die either. I've been on this earth for almost 62 years and I'm still finding things to do and new people to love all the time. I eagerly anticipate new music, movies, TV shows, holidays, getting together with friends and family--heck, I even enjoy going to the gym and the challenge of getting myself back into shape after a recent health setback. I don't want to abandon my wife, kid, best friend, or even my Mother (still in great health and humour at 85). I am (I think) an extremely emotional and passionate person and the thought of life coming to an end is not something I would ever look forward to.

If we all had a button to push that would end it all when you are ready, I wonder how many of us would hit that button, assuming we are reasonably healthy and mobile? When would you decide that you've had enough and don't care what happens any more? I honestly don't think I ever would.

^ and this is why you are so well liked:) You're honesty and humility.
I too don't want to die, but I don't want to live forever either, sort of silly isn't it, since it's got to be one or the other..... Those ultra religious people in my family are always preaching about the wonders and beauty of heaven, yet when their time to go is discussed, or when they loose a loved one they are the first to shed tears. I find this fascinating and funny all at the same time.
I think accepting truths about life is an accomplishment, as is overcoming any hardship. The best any of us can do is live our best life and stay true to ourselves, with the appreciation that each day is a gift, not guarantee or something we'er entitled to.

Exactly, who wants to die? I certainly don't and if I can pop a pill to keep me healthy and decent looking I'd love to live forever. Death is heartbreaking, why do we have to go through it and I'd happily give up childbirth to live longer.

Would you also like a hot apple pie with that, Ms. Reverse?

Seriously, there is a huge difference between 'eternal youth' and 'eternal life'. Would you want to live for hundreds of years with arthritis, cataracts, and tits down to your knees? I wouldn't want that for you, either. PS: Please remove at least a few of your stored private messages; you can't receive any new ones, until you do!
