Check out today's Metro article talking about the Sex, Safety and Security study. Nice to see that the journalist - Jessica Smith - didn't decide to take the popular angle of demonizing people who purchase sexual services.

Pretty flimsy article, and of course the paper resorted to the standby stereotype photo of a streetwalker.

Generally, I've found most articles pertaining to sex work to be fairly even-handed. I've been following closely what the media says since a little before Himel's decision. Canadians are, for the most part, ready to accept it as any activity formerly termed as a vice: Not for everyone, hope everyone's safe and happy, if there's something shady/unhealthy going on, then let's step in.

I like that.

Legalize prostitution and will solve all problems. They can now all play safe but the downfall is that they will have to start paying taxes.

Pretty flimsy article . . ..

In fairness, I should note that most articles in Metro are flimsy ... just a quick synopsis. Probably the most important thing is that the article does draw the survey to the attention of the general public . . . and as the OP notes, the article doesn't demonize "buyers."

Thanks for clarifying it Art Mann.

There are ways to go around that.
