Meet Aram Grumet. He is one month shy of four years old and he breast feeds. To illustrate a feature package on attachment parenting, Time had Aram stand on a chair and suck his mother's teat while gazing into the camera. The resulting photo will soon be on every newsstand in America.

When I saw this cover, I initially assumedTime had taken a page from Newsweek's stock photo fetish porn playbook. BetweenTime's boob suck and Newsweek's S&M and, the waiting room at your dentist's office is now a danger zone for twisted Freudian arousal.

But Aram's photo is not simulated. He is a real boy, and his 26-year-old mother Jamie Lynne Grumet really breastfeeds him and his five-year-old brother. Jamie herself breastfed until age six. As I type this, an image of multigenerational human centipede breastfeeding has entered my mind and will not leave.

Yeah, I remember that scene, they were showing a mentally unstable mother, Lysa Arryn, raising a mentally unstable son, Robin Arryn, who is now the head of a kingdom. He was 10 and still breastfeeding. Everybody looked at them with kind of unbelieving eyes.

You should research it first.....I did with my son till he was 3.....
There are places in Europe that women do ...
Research coming out saying breast feeding after 3 is a plus....
This is why there are choices....Women will decide what they
feel comfortable with...I know some moms who would not even breast
feed their babies....Before Formula....kids breast feed for a long time....

well, i just read that it soothes the child when they are tired, cranky or ill...and it benefits the mother by "The "mothering hormone," prolactin, relaxes you, while oxytocin stimulates loving , nurturing behavior"

so, if that's the case, why stop at all? why not continue into their teens or heck, when they head off to college?

I'm on the fence with this one.

I know that breasts milk can be one of the healthiest nutrients on the planet.

But off the top of my head I can't recall any other species breast feeding for that long of an extended time after child birth.

There is no other species that drinks cows milk either....Or drink milk to even in their grown up lives...

but seriously, why did you stop at 3 yrs old? why not continue until he was a teen?

on a side note, i'd say about half the women i've been with who have had kids, and breast fed, their boobs were totally destroyed by the process.....in one case it was so bad one looked like an empty water balloon......yikes....i shudder just remembering it.......

the food companies started making baby foods....they told women that their breast milk was
not good for their babies.....so we have a couple of generation of this crap.....
One of the food companies got into trouble a few years back because they were putting
too much corn starch into the Baby foods....Their reason for this, Canadian Babies enjoy
it better......?????????

When I was younger I would see European woman feeding their children who were 4 or 5....
The child themselves will say no more.....As one child becomes older the other younger child
will push them away from mom......

As for the breast being destroyed well again it is the sign of the times....really...How women
should look....Well form breast etc.....TV and ads play on that.....Either you want what natural
or you want what really is fake....you alone can decide....even in age your breast as well as Men's
Balls begin to sag....that is why there are Ball lifts and Breast lifts.......
