LONDON, Ont. — Police say a 29-year-old Toronto woman put the lives of two children at risk Monday when she was allegedly clocked at 212 km/h on Hwy. 401 near Chatham, Ont.
Ontario Provincial Police said the woman ignored two cruisers set up to stop her and continued travelling at high speeds until she was finally stopped in Elgin County, Ont., at about 2 p.m.
Cops allege the kids — a six-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy — were not secured properly in their car seats.
The woman has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, racing and two counts of failing to ensure a toddler is properly secured.
The vehicle she was driving has been impounded for seven days and her driver's licence has been suspended for a week.
