The only poll that matters is on election day. I believe the Ford voters are more unified and motivated meaning they will actually get out there and cast their ballot. Unfortunately when it comes to municipal elections voter turn out is very poor but I hope this one will be different.

It's sad that our choices are narrowing down to man who will continue the status quo (Smitherman) or a blowhard who keeps shouting statements that are based on lies (Ford). When I hear George Smitherman's name it always, brings back memories of the eHealth spending scandal . . . at one billion dollars, most of these transgressions occurred under his stewardship from 2003 until 2008 . . . IMO this guy is grossly incompetent!

I find it ironic that we live in a time when municipal politics are more important than ever and yet we end up with lousy mayors.

We get what we deserve. We do not pay our senior politicians enough to entice quality, educated people out of the private sector. We throw mud at our politicians and expect them to be pure as the driven snow.

We insist on totally moral, totally pure, lily white politicians, yet we dig dig dig looking for the dirt.

I don't give a shit if someone was caught with a joint. Or if was accused, but not found guilty.

I do care about previous public service and if they fucked the dog. Or if they ran a couple or three or more businesses into the ground.

I care about where they want to lead us to. Or if they just want to provide good management without some starry eyed pie in the sky dream.

I want the garbage picked up, and not held hostage by over paid union bosses.

I want the subway to run on time, and maybe be expanded.

I want the TTC to be expanded, but not at the cost of neighbourhoods or vehicular traffic.

Etc.

But until we pay politicians more, and stop caring if they are getting a blow job in their office, we are going to get more of the crop we currently have.
