When giant pandas bone, it's news. Not only are they endangered, but these big bears are notoriously picky when it comes to mates.
Considering preservation of the species is at stake, it's a call for celebration when a male panda doesn't spend half his time masturbating. (No judgments, though;Masturbation is awesome for everyone.)
These pandas apparently set a new record for panda sex endurance: 7 minutes and 45 seconds.
The male panda, named Lu Lu, earned the nickname "Enduring Brother" for his record-setting romp with his "room mate," Zhen Zhen. Panda sex on average lasts about 1 minute and 20 seconds.
This is part of a breeding program run by , according to Chinese state newspaper The People's
Daily. This year, researchers will , but it's unclear how many males will be involved in that. We're guessing that for the sake of genetic diversity, they won't give "Enduring Brother" the keys to the panda harem.
