We say duh, but many people in Mexico don't. They eat a lot of endangered turtles because they're not supposed to eat meat on Friday, per the Catholic Church, but fish is allowed, and recommended.

There's no Biblical precedent for the 'meatless Friday' rule. About 500 years ago, the fishermen in Italy wanted to increase their market share of the food industry, so they gave a lot of money to whoever was Pope at the time, to receive an edict that 'believers' were not to eat meat on Friday.

They still do it, because no subsequent Pope has changed the rule, and no Pope probably will, because that would be admitting that a previous Pope had not been infallible, and that the instruction had come from the paper God, not the one who used to smite folks for doing things that pissed him off.

Once in a Blue Moon means almost never.

The Earth's moon orbits the Earth in approximately 29.5 days. If the moon is full on the first of the month, in a month that has 31 days, there will be two full moons during the same calendar month. That happens about once every 2½ years, and that's what a Blue Moon is.
 
House cats catch mice instinctively.

It's a learned behavior. When kittens grow up with their mother, she will teach them how to catch mice, when the opportunity arises, by capturing the mouse live, bringing it home, and having the kittens practice by catching the same mouse repeatedly.

A cat can teach itself how to catch mice. I had a friend who had a pet snake, which was fed live mice. He let me have one for my cat. I put it in the bathtub, and showed him it was there. After a while, he went in the tub, and took the mouse in his mouth, and went into the living room. We followed him, to see what he would do with it. He dropped the mouse, and wouldn't approach it again. Some time later, he learned how to catch them, outside, at night.

For years afterwards, my cat would go in the, (dry), bathtub, and check the drain hole, to see if there were any mice there. Perhaps that's where he thought the white one had come from.
 
Black people invented rap music.

It was rural whites. They called it square dancing, and used a fiddle, instead of two turn tables.

The Crying Indian was an Indian.

In the early 1970's, there was a famous television Public Service Announcement for Keep America Beautiful, in which an actor dressed like a North American Indian cried after seeing a lot of pollution:



The actor who portrayed the Indian, Iron Eyes Cody:



was born Espera Oscar de Corti, and both of his parents were Italian.

To me, he looks a lot like two time Formula One World Champion and twice winner of the Indianapolis 500, Emerson Fittipaldi:



Fittipaldi was severely criticized after winning the 1993 Indy 500, because he drank orange juice after winning the race, rather than milk, a tradition of Indy 500 race winners, dating back to 1936. Fittipaldi owns several orange groves in his native Brazil, and wanted to shill his family product.
 
ESSA TWP., Ont. — A 55-year-old Barrie, Ont., driver swallowed a penny before an officer tried to give him a breathalyzer test early Sunday morning, police say.
According to provincial police, the officer noticed an SUV had no tail lights on shortly before 2:30 a.m. about an hour north of Toronto.

Police say the officer suspected the driver was intoxicated. Just before providing a breath sample, the suspect popped something into his mouth, police said. When the officer asked what was in his mouth, the man allegedly displayed a copper penny on his tongue. Police said the driver swallowed it when the officer asked him to remove it.

The driver was charged with impaired driving, as well as obstructing a peace officer for allegedly swallowing the penny.
Police say sucking on a copper penny won’t affect the outcome of a breathalyzer test.

Myth........That me being of East Indian descent (the non white looking physically structured type) results in the "Fact" that I'm more poorly endowed and not as good as a lover as a White or African descent male.

Hmmmmmm :good: Nice one society, it seems I can't fit a condom after all...
