Second time at North 44 and McEwan remains King of Toronto. Was there 4 years ago and it was packed. This time around there was only 6 tables on a Thursday night but the food remains one of the best in the city. Servers were knowledgeable and cordial.
Started with with fresh oysters, server asked me from the West or east coast. Without a doubt always the East I said. Pacific water gives them a better flavor. We then shared Quebec Foie gras and a steak tartar that was heaven, pure orgasmic.
Salmon with a light corn batter and the roasted squab were phenomenal. Finished of with a chocolate Bomb with a hit of caramel that was out of this world.
$270 with a bottle of Chianti plus $50 tip.
