Some unusually large scale solar activity may give us a rare chance to see the Aurora Borealis from as far south as Toronto tomorrow (August 4) evening. This activity may be playing some havoc with our telecommunications systems but if it's a clear night we may be treated to a spectacular display. So get your telescopes refocused from the activity in the apartment accross the street and look to the northen sky!

The light pollution from the GTA will almost kill anything worthwhile but if you near a big park or Maybe Orangeville Caledon, try using a tube from a paper towel roll, cut in half, and put to each eye to eliminate a lot of the ambient light. Even a small pair of binoculars will help.

.

Cool . Been years since I've seen the Aurora Borje Salming . May have to spark up an unfiltered cigarette to celebrate  .

I didnt see shit!!

I'm filing this one under Y2K bug, BigFoot and soon to be 2012

I've seen the A Borialis a 100 times or their lesser known cousins the Aurora Australis, but I've only seen them twice in the GTA and I know what to look for.

If this haze clears and the moon stays out of it, you might see. It's hard to say they'll be here today but not tomorrow night.
